Samal Shores Residenza: A New Era of Island Living
The first township in the Island Garden City of Samal is set to be completed in three years, marking a significant milestone with the unveiling of its entry statement sculpture on February 18, 2025.
Samal Shores Residenza, a sprawling 40-hectare township, will soon be a landmark of Samal Island. Designed by international and acclaimed artist Jinggoy Buensuceso, the township’s welcome structure is now open to the public, signifying the gateway to this modern and sophisticated coastal community.
Beatrice Gonzalez-Magallanes, PJ Tri-Gon Realty Corporation Group Senior EVP for Finance and Treasury, announced that the township’s completion is scheduled in time with the opening of the Davao-Samal Bridge in 2028. This alignment is expected to enhance accessibility and connectivity, further elevating the island’s real estate and commercial potential.
Township Features and Amenities
Samal Shores Residenza will allocate nine hectares for commercial development, including a dedicated 2.5-hectare space for a regional mall. Retail establishments will also be introduced based on demand, with an initial small retail center set to open in the coming years.
Significant progress has already been made on the township’s clubhouse, with 40 percent of the 700-square-meter facility completed. The clubhouse will feature ample parking and serve as a hub for community engagement.
Additional infrastructure within the township includes a community center, a police station, a fire station, and a chapel, ensuring a well-rounded and secure environment for residents and visitors.
A highlight of the development is its 3,000-square-meter park, which will serve as the heart of the community. Complementing this green space is a multipurpose hall accommodating up to 150 guests, positioned to overlook a stunning 300-square-meter infinity pool.
Further amenities include a fully equipped gym and a multifunction area designed for smaller meetings and gatherings.
The Unveiling of an Iconic Sculpture
The Samal Shores Residenza Welcome structure, conceptualized and created by renowned artist Jinggoy Buensuceso, stands as a defining symbol of the township. Crafted from 316 stainless steel, the sculpture measures five meters in height and 7.1 meters in width, embodying the movement and essence of water.
This remarkable piece, titled Language of Water, draws inspiration from the surrounding sea, reflecting the life, culture, and identity of the island’s people. The fluidity of the sculpture captures the seamless integration of nature with modern tropical living, reinforcing Samal Shores Residenza’s vision of a harmonious and elegant island community.
For the residents of Samal and visitors alike, this sculpture serves as a lasting tribute to the island’s deep connection to the sea and the vibrant life it sustains. The Welcome structure is more than just an artistic landmark; it is a gift to the people of Samal, a reminder of their rich heritage and a beacon for the future of the township.
